urban skills and obedience

This group class is available to owners and dogs who already have the foundations and understanding of basic commands, sit, down, stay and some leash walking.

This class will give owners the opportunity to tune up their dogs skills and obedience, using the other dogs in the class as well as different distractions we come across in an urban environment. Classes will consist of group exercises, confidence building, games and urban agility.

This class is taught by Emily.

4 sessions, 1 week apart, 45mins to 1 hour long.

Location: Parks around Ladysmith area

Cost: $195+gst

Urban Skills and Obedience Registration

Community Pack Walk

A group, structured walk to give owners the opportunity to work on their dog's training and expose their dogs to other people. dogs, or triggers that may make their dog uncomfortable, in a controlled an safe way.

Saturday, May 11th @ 10:00am, Location: Cowichan Sportsplex, Gravel Parking Lot off of Beverley St, Across from the Somenos Creek Dog Park.

Saturday, June 8th @ 10:00am, Location: Evans Park

Saturday, July 13th @ 10:00am, Location: Gravel Parking Lot behind Heritage Indian Cuisine. We will walk the Cowichan Valley Trail off of Cowichan Lake Road.

Saturday, August 10th @ 10:00am, Location: Cowichan Bay Estuary/Maple Grove Park.

Saturday, September 14th @ 10:00am, Location: Cowichan Valley Trail off of Sahtlam Rd and Cowichan Lake Road

Saturday, October 12th @ 10:00am, Location: Centennial Park, in Duncan, off of 1st Street.

Everyone is welcome!

 

Cost: $30 per dog/ handler

Cash or etransfer is accepted.

Rules:

  • All dogs must be on leash

  • Absolutely no leash greetings. This includes sniffs, playing and interacting in general. 

  • During the exercises and the walk, please keep your dogs under control, on a short leash and in heel position.

  • Please keep a 4-6ft distance between you and any other dog & handler.

  • Please remember, most of the dogs attending are nervous, reactive or uncomfortable around dogs. Please give them space at all times.
